A Comma, And…

This June issue, you are holding, is a mark of the end of this semester. In other words, we have reached halfway through 2023. How was this semester for you, Kingos? To me, it felt like a time filled with the Sungkyun Times (SKT) — each day was meaningful and precious.

Every day, you may encounter countless commas. They are familiar punctuation marks that you find in every piece of writing. However, imagine a page without a single comma. What would that look like? The absence of pauses between dense sentences might suffocate your chest and disconnect the context between the words. It would ultimately result in uncompleted work.

Thanks to commas in your life, your time can flow smoothly. I have hoped that the SKT would become such a point for Kingos: a place that allows you to rest and connect with everything in between you and the world. In fact, this June issue would be an even more special comma. Instead of a period at the end of a sentence, a comma implies the beginning of something else. Although my term is coming to an end, I am sure that your excited hearts, looking forward to what’s next, will not be in vain — because our splendid reporters will continue the next sentences!

This month, we have included articles to help you reflect on your daily lives and successfully wrap up the semester. May this issue — and beyond that, the SKT — engrave a more meaningful comma into your lives. As our reports are to be continued, stay tuned!
