On September 13th, the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, visited the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. United States (U.S.) officials noted that there is a high possibility of an arms deal between the two countries. The U.S. is viewing the meeting as a final stage of the agreement. Currently, Russia is desperate for arms due to its war with Ukraine, while North Korea, the highly sanctioned country, is in demand of money and food. In short, the two countries can meet each other’s needs. Many countries are carefully watching the situation, as it could potentially enhance military capabilities and pose a threat to the world. Although it seems clear that Russia wants weapons from North Korea, what North Korea wants in return remains unclear. For the economy's revival, North Korea could require food and money. On the other hand, military support from Russia may be offered to the North Korean army. Moreover, there are rising concerns about the chances of North Korea offering knowledge regarding nuclear capabilities. Having been told that Putin readily accepted Kim’s invitation to North Korea after the summit, it seems that more attention is needed on the future relationship of the two countries.
