It has been over one year and a half since the first appearance of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Considering the current situation, the remainder of 2021 seems not enough to end the pandemic situation. Along the path of the pandemic, there have been too many variables. At first, COVID-19 was deemed as a temporary virus just like a common virus. However, it became so serious, and policies that we could not imagine before, such as wearing a mask everywhere and blocking travel between countries, became the “new normal”.
The situation which had been expected to become better after a week, a month, and a year failed to be relieved, and the condition is still ever-changing. Personally, at the end of last semester, I believed that I could go to campus, take offline classes, and meet my friends at school next semester. But the future that I expected did not come, and still, we are waiting for the world without the virus. The day where I can enjoy original campus life is not sure to come to my life yet.
Like this, the life that we want does not always come easily, and I learned the importance of cherishing every moment through this experience. The day we are living now may never come to us in the future, so doing our best at the present is the only way not to regret afterwards. If we enjoy and cherish every moment now, a brighter future would come to us someday.
