Kingos must have heard about Yanghyeongwan near the back door of the university. Most of Kingos, however, might not have visited it or even been aware of what the building stands for. Yanghyeongwan is the name of the building where Kingos studying for national examinations prepare for their exams. It is also a collective name for classes that teach subjects covered by national examinations. Yanghyeongwan was first established in 1986 and did not change its old facilities until 2014. Students, however, kept asking for a remodeling of the building, and the request was finally granted when the building was remodeled from 2015 to this year’s summer vacation. During this time, students who had studied in the previous Yanghyeongwan were reallocated to the underground reading room of Kingo House and the fifth floor of the library. After all of the facilities in Yanghyeongwan were furnished up, students came back to their own studying areas to once again concentrate on their exam preparations. The facilities in the Yanghyeongwan are meant to help students study in a more pleasant atmosphere. The newly built Yanghyeongwan even has seminar rooms, a gym, and reading rooms.
To obtain the privilege of studying in the most modernized area to prepare for national examinations, students must pass the tests that each class requires. The classes each require a certain level of intellect related to the examinations that students will prepare for. For example, Waryongheon, the class that prepares for civil services examinations, requires students to pass the mock test that the school made. The test is normally held two to three times a year.
