Spring is a beautiful season. May is the last chance to enjoy the warm breeze and blooming flowers. Soon, it will be a hot, humid summer, and Kingos will leave the campus as the summer vacation begins. Facing the end of the semester, I hope Kingos take their time to look back at themselves. I know you must be busy doing team projects and writing essays, but it is always worth pausing and giving yourself some rest. So why don’t you ask yourself a question: Has your campus life been fruitful so far?
The Sungkyun Times (SKT) did some reflections, too. According to the Korean Education Statistics Service, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) has the second-highest number of international students, with 3,376, in South Korea. Nevertheless, the SKT has failed to represent our international community even though the SKT is the official English news magazine of the SKKU. Therefore, we came to a unanimous decision that we should be more vocal about international students during our general meeting. On this page, the SKT is proud to announce our new direction. We promise to listen to and speak up for the opinions and rights of the international community.
Kingos are going to see new pages from the June Issue. A new section, called “SKKU VOICE,” will introduce two international students and ask why they decided to come to Korea and why they chose SKKU. This is just the beginning. Please stay tuned for more changes and developments!
