How has 2022 been so far for Kingos? As the Editor- in- Chief of the Sungkyun Times (SKT), I have endured a hectic semester. Reflecting on the past while putting together my final Editor’s Letter, I feel like time has flown by quickly.
In Korea, there is a concept known as the sexagenary cycle, in which a different animal represents each year. 2023 is the year of the black rabbit. What do Kingos think of when you see the word “rabbit”? My first thought is of the White Rabbit from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, who always carries a watch with him. The White Rabbit makes me think of modern people who lead busy lives, constantly checking their watches and moving quickly as though they were being chased by something. However, we should never forget that rabbits have big ears, clear eyes, and the ability to jump high. In 2023, the year of the black rabbit, how about opening your ears, examining your objectives clearly, and moving a step forward? Rather than the sadness of finishing 2022, I hope Kingos will be filled with new hope for 2023.
Although my term here is ending, I do not doubt that the SKT will promote better development in 2023. I would like to thank all of the reporters of the SKT for their hard work during 2022 and wrap up my last Editor’s Letter. I would especially like to thank my fellow colleague and the Substantive Editor for successfully guiding the SKT through the second half of 2022. Please continue to express your love for the SKT!
