Half of 2018 has already passed, and a new semester has started. For some Kingos, it is the time when university life begins in earnest. In contrast, it can also be the time for others to wrap up their whole university life before their graduation. Therefore, the Sungkyun Times (SKT) asked a few Kingos about their goals for this semester before they start an ambitious and fun new semester.
Jeon Su-ha (Senior, English Language and Literature)
My goal for this semester is doing well both on and outside the campus. Firstly, I will receive better grades than before. Also, I want to get a high score in the upcoming Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).
Lee Ah-mi (Junior, English Language and Literature)
Now that I am in the 3rd grade, I have a lot of concerns about my future. When I meet friends, we usually talk about what we will do after our graduation. Above all, I have decided to improve my English speaking skills this semester. There are so many students who are fluent in English in my major, so I am thinking of registering for a speaking class.
Kim Seong-ah (Sophomore, Global Leader)
Honestly, I did not have any specific goals until last semester. Thus, I will use this semester as the time to think about what I really want to accomplish. By trying to do various activities, I am certain that I will find the answer at the end of the semester.
Han Ji-yeon (Junior, Computer Education)
I want to develop a habit of reading books. To achieve this goal, I plan to participate in various cultural events where I can get closer to books. Besides this, I also want to travel around because it is my last semester before becoming a graduate-to-be.
Jeong Yeo-won (Freshman, Humanities Science)
Last summer vacation, I decided to become a high school history teacher in the future. To make my dream come true, I will get higher grades than I did last semester and choose a major in history.
Lee Yun-ho (Sophomore, Philosophy)
I will work as the president of the school art club starting this semester. I will try my best to improve the club based on its problems that I have figured out. I will do my best to achieve this goal without any regrets.
Choi Deok (Sophomore, Russian Language and Literature)
After receiving 4.44 credits, I will order a cake on which the number “4.44” is written and eat it only with my hands!
Jo Hyeon-jeong (Junior, English Language and Literature)
This semester is the 1st semester for me after I returned to Korea from a student-exchange
program in Japan. First, I will study hard to become the “king of grades.” I also look forward to having a new experience in an academic club that I will join this semester. By doing these things, I will make a blueprint of my future.
Son Da-in (Freshman, Nature Science)
I must choose my major next year. I want to study a wide range of subjects such as General Chemistry, General Physics and Calculus. It will be helpful for me to find which field
I have an aptitude for. In addition, I want to make great memories of my freshman year as a member of the Sungkyunkwan University Broadcasting Station (SUBS) and the tennis club.
Sim Hyeong-seob (Sophomore, Global Business Administration)
I will join the army soon. I hope that I will be able to come back to school after going through harsh training in the scorching heat.
