Professor Won Sang-min of Electronic Electrical Engineering at SKKU and his research team have introduced and suggested a guide for future implantable biodevice technology for nerve diagnosis and treatment. Until recently, research on nerve systems using implantable devices has taken the role of providing a medical engineering basis, diagnosing diseases, and understanding human activity. This time, Prof. Won and his research team have organized clinical results and researches about nerve diagnosis and treatment devices they have conducted for the past 10 years, including wireless and bioresorbable biodevices. They have introduced bio-friendly devices by changing the materials and structures of the devices and user-friendly wireless technology. Furthermore, it takes notice from the world of academia because after implanting nerve treatment purpose micro-elements, the device estimates and works when nerve stimulation is in need by itself. This research was published in a top-class academic journal of biology, Cell in April, with the title of Emerging Modalities and Implantable Technologies for Neuromodulation.
