Korean Studies for SKKU Internationals
Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) offers Korean Interdisciplinary Studies, a special dual degree program designed exclusively for international students, and will open the second round of its applications from July 14th to July 18th. The program aims to foster experts with a deep understanding of the Korean language, culture, history, and society — key assets for those hoping to build a future in Korea. Offered as a dual degree, this program allows international students to earn credits in Korean studies while pursuing their primary major. At SKKU, the dual degree is part of a flexible academic system that enables students to pursue two or even three majors simultaneously, empowering them to shape their own academic paths. The Korean Interdisciplinary Studies program is divided into four main categories: Korean Language, Korean Culture, Korean History, and Korean Economy. This structured curriculum equips students with both linguistic and cultural fluency, increasing their competitiveness when applying for a job in Korean companies, which often seek international talent with insight into Korean society. For international students seeking a future beyond university studies in Korea, this program offers both opportunity and direction.
