Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU)’s Counseling Center is offering free psychological counseling services to support Chinese students as they navigate academic and cultural life in South Korea. Adjusting to a new country, culture, and language can be challenging, and feelings of stress, anxiety, or loneliness are natural. The Counseling Center aims to help students adapt to Korean university life more smoothly and address difficulties that may be hard to manage alone. Students facing issues related to emotions, relationships, academics, self-understanding, career planning, family matters, or cultural differences can receive professional support at the center. Counseling services are available in Chinese, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder students from seeking help. The program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students, whether currently enrolled or on leave. Services include individual counseling sessions, held once a week for either five or ten sessions, as well as psychological assessments with professional interpretation. Group counseling programs are also available. Applications can be submitted online through Challenge Square, making it convenient for students to sign up and receive prompt assistance. The Counseling Center encourages students not to hesitate to seek help when they face difficulties and stress, as doing so is a positive step. For Chinese students at SKKU seeking to balance academic achievement with personal well-being, these programs are an invaluable resource.
